The Foundation Had a Great Turnout for the Gainesville Regional Volunteer Conference

sierra-and-june-ky-and-roslyn-alan-and-eric Thank you to all the the child welfare experts who shared their immense knowledge with our GAL volunteers.  A special thank you to the GAL volunteers who work so hard every day for Florida’s abused, neglected and abandoned children – and spent the time to learn more about how they can be a voice for a child.

“I would strongly encourage any Guardian ad Litem volunteer to attend the nearest regional conference to them.  I found the regional conference conducted in Gainesville in September to be not only highly informative but also very motivational in nature.  The interaction with other volunteers and the information covered during the conference have significantly improved my ability to be an effective advocate for my children as a Guardian ad Litem.”     P. Clawson, GAL Volunteer Gainesville.

“The GAL Regional Conference was one of the “fastest” and most diverse that I have been to in a while.  From the first speaker presenting from the heart about families she interacted with as a DCF staff  to the Judge’s Perspective and the sessions in between (especially the teen girls making me cry during the youth panel!) it was informative and NOT the same old training.  I so appreciated the day and left feeling more equipped to do my GAL work. It’s well worth the time and effort to attend!”   I. Melvin, GAL Volunteer Gainesville.
