Ensure Florida’s Dependent Children the Futures They Deserve

Katie McCarey

 Katie McCarey is an Operations, Process Improvement and Strategy expert with 18-years of experience at UnitedHealthcare (13 Years), Aetna (4 Years) and Magellan (1 Year) and prides herself on her ability to “create order out of chaos”.

In 2019, as a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, she saved UnitedHealthcare $77 Million in streamlining current business process improvements with her Pharmacy Operations team of 29 Pharmacists, Implementation Managers, Business Analysts and Six Sigma Black Belts while completing 57 flawless State Implementations, 101 Coding Changes and 2,024 Healthplan Escalation tickets.

Katie resides in Tampa, FL, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and in 2020 is scheduled to complete her Master’s Degree in Public Health.

In her free time, Katie is a court-appointed Master Guardian ad Litem for the State of Florida, advocates for neglected/abused newborns in court and mentors new volunteers.  She also sends care packages to deployed troops in Afghanistan where her brother, an US Army Major, is currently stationed and once a year travels to the island of Andros in the Bahamas to surgically tag sharks for NOAA’s Shark Conservation Programs.
