MOSS FOUNDATION DONATES $25,000 FOR ABUSED, NEGLECTED CHILDREN

[Tallahassee] – The Fort Lauderdale-based MOSS Foundation has generously donated $25,000 to the Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation to help abused, abandoned and neglected children in the state’s dependency system, foundation officials announced Monday.

President Chad Moss presented the check to the Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation at his group’s 6th  annual charitable golf tournament, the Plumb Bob Classic, on Dec. 6.  The MOSS Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to helping non-profit groups throughout the nation. Created by MOSS’ national privately held construction firm, the MOSS Foundation prides itself on giving back to the community and enhancing its surrounding areas.

The donation will go to the Fostering Futures Training Initiative, which focuses on advocacy and mentoring for older youth in foster care, said the Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s Interim CEO, Sonia Valladares.

“It will change the outcomes for many youth,” Valladares said. “It will also help us recruit minority volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in court.”

“The Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s mission aligns with one of our key focus areas of empowering foster youth, which made them a clear choice for our Foundation,” said Chad Moss, President of the MOSS Foundation.  “We are delighted to partner with the Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation in order to build strong communities through heartfelt child advocacy.”

“This is the perfect example of a public-private partnership,” said Guardian ad Litem Executive Director Alan Abramowitz. “We are very grateful for MOSS’s leadership and support.” (See photo attachment.)
