Ensure Florida’s Dependent Children the Futures They Deserve

Sarah Young

Sarah Young is a full-time faculty member of the Florida Center for Public Management and the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at the Florida State University.­ She has been involved in nonprofit organizations since birth, as her family helped ­build the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and she grew up­ at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.­ Sarah has worked for AMIkids National Headquarters, providing training on governance and fundraising for its 57 local chapters; for the­ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as the Injury Prevention Manager for the Florida Department of Health; and as ­the Director of Florida for Opportunity Services, a national nonprofit that helps individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment. She also worked as a consultant to help­ develop the first nonprofit resource center in North Florida, the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence.­­

Sarah has an MBA in Nonprofit Management and is working toward her Ph.D. at FSU’s Askew School of Public Administration. Sarah resides in Tallahassee with her husband and son.
